Circle the vehicle in one direction from the driver door and note every mark on the rental form before you accept the keys.

Photograph the same set every time
Four corners, four sides, the roof line, the glass, and close-ups of anything already damaged, with time stamps on.

Record fuel and mileage
Capture the gauge and odometer with the ignition on, then write both into the mileage worksheet with the date and location.
